Burn Notice on USA

The hottest show on cable TV, Burn Notice, returns for its fifth season on USA network. Burn Notice is a sexy, action-packed USA original series starring Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Westen, a blacklisted spy. Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona, a beautiful ex-IRA operative who happens to be Westen’s on-and-off girlfriend. Bruce Campbell stars as Sam, an ex-Navy SEAL and Michael’s closest buddy in town. Also starring is Emmy Award-winner Sharon Gless as Madeline, Michael’s chain-smoking mother, who hasn’t seen her son in over ten years. The show is set in beautiful Miami with generous aerial footage featured throughout the episodes.

The plot of Burn Notice is basically this. Michael Weston is a CIA spy who has been “burned” and dumped in Miami to live out the rest of his miserable days. His ex-girlfriend Fiona hears about Michael’s situation and comes to his side. Unsatisfied with his “burned” status, Michael sets out to find the people who burned him and get his old life back. While he is attempting to track down the responsible parties, Michael runs into his old buddy Sam Axe. Sam is retired from the Navy and living it up in Miami. With Fiona’s trigger happy attitude, and Sam’s military intelligence contacts, Michael sets out to find the secrets of who is behind his Burn Notice.
