A Chocolate Fountain Is a Party Staple

Nostalgia Electrics CFF986 3-Tier Stainless Steel Chocolate Fondue Fountain

You will definitely want to have a chocolate fountain at your party. It will be the centerpiece of all the action. You other treats can surround it, or it can be displayed on a table by itself, along with the foods you want to dip in the fountain. Some ideas of what to offer on skewers include:

*Pineapple pieces
*Brownies or brownie style cookies
*Sliced apples

Guests will enjoy experimenting with a variety of foods dipped in chocolate sauce. Click on the photo here of the fountain for more details or the link in the Introduction for more information on that fountain pictured there.

Fondue and Fountain Accessories

Perhaps you prefer a fondue machine over a fountain. Either will serve you well. Here are some fondue forks, bamboo skewers and even an electric fondue maker.

Make sure you provide your guests with ample skewer options, so they can dip all night long. Have back-ups ready, just in case you run out.

Coffee should be served at a chocolate party. Other hot beverage ideas include cappuccino, hot chocolate and hot tea. Cold beverage ideas include sparkling water, milk, bottled water, iced tea, lemonade, and so on.

Keep guests happy not only with great food choices, but a variety of terrific beverage choices, as well.

Chocolate Cake Recipe

Chocolate cake can be enjoyed plain, with frosting, or dipped in chocolate sauce. This recipe makes an 8 x 8 square cake, so you’ll need to make more than one, or do it the easy way, and purchase boxed cake mixes, which is something I would probably do.

Serves: 8 Prep Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 55 – 60 minutes

1 cup sugar
1/3 stick margarine or butter
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
1.5 cups all purpose flour
4 Tbs. cocoa
1 Tbs. baking soda
12 Tbs. boiling water
(Batter will be thin)

Preheat oven to 350 F
Lightly grease an 8×8 cake pan with cooking oil or shortening
Cream sugar and margarine in a mixing bowl with a mixer
Add egg
Add vanilla and buttermilk
Add flour and cocoa
Beat until thoroughly mixed
Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean in the center of the cake

No Bake Fudge Cookies Recipe

These are my absolute favorite cookies! I can’t get enough of them. I think anyone who enjoys chocolate will love these.

I remember these being served at my grade school, and then my mom started making them at home. I make them on rare occasions, because I’m dangerous around them (by eating too many).

1 lb. sugar (2 cups)
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
1/4 tsp. salt
“Have the following ingredients ready in a large mixing bowl”
1 tsp. vanilla
2.5 cups quick oatmeal
1/2 cup peanut butter (I prefer creamy)
1.5 cups raisins (I never use these)
If you omit the raisins, use 1/2 cup extra oatmeal

Mix first ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil.
Pour the boiling fudge mixture over the dry mix and stir well.
Pour into a 9×13 ungreased pan.
Let cool at least one hour.
Cut into squares.
*Work fast, as the mixture hardens quickly.
You can also drop by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet covered with baking paper or wax paper (this is what I do), the you’ll get round cookies rather than square bars.
