A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
A Christmas Carol is Dickens most popular book. Did you know that it came as a book – not just the movie?
Most Dickens scholars think this book was actually not his best – yet it an intrical part of Christmas. The story of the redemption of a man who turns so miserly that nothing is of value to him touches all of us. This book deserves to be a part of everyone’s Christmas.

Why should you read? Why not
Reading helps you focus, remember and relax.
When you read you have to create your own picture – which is why we always think that the books are better than the movie – we have already created the movie in our mind!
There are so many advantages to reading, and Christmastime is the time to remember it.
Three Favorite Christmas Stories for Adults
I have chosen these three books because they all give a special view of Christmas.
The first book is a non-fiction book about Christmas itself. A history from the various beginning.
The second book is from one of our favorite author’s Tolkien. Every December an envelope bearing a stamp from the North Pole would arrive for J.R.R. Tolkien’s children. Inside would be a letter in a strange, spidery handwriting and a beautiful colored drawing or painting. The letters were from Father Christmas. A delightful tale followed.
The last one of Jeanette Winterson’s new story that she has written a new story for Christmas time. She will bring together recipes, stories, and tales and that will delight children and adults both.

It might be too cold for me to put up my tree on the lanai this December. Maybe I should get all my books and make a tree inside of those.
