What is Dry Wine?
Dry wine is simply a wine that has no residual sugar. It’s not sweet, and is a nice option for those who don’t like sweet drinks. When grape juice converts to wine, alcohol is produced in the fermentation process because yeast eats the sugar present in the juice. Oftentimes in wine making, the winemaker stops the fermentation process before the yeast has time to eat all the sugar, thus leaving the wine a sweet taste. To make a dry wine, the winemaker will lets the fermentation process finish completely, thus allowing the yeast to consume all the sugar present. No more sugar means no sugary sweetness therefore making the wine dry.
I’m sharing some of the wines that are featured on Dry Red Wines, however I urge you to check out their website for a comprehensive view of all they have to offer!
