Decorate the Prettiest Easter Tree Ever
How to Make and Decorate an Easter Tree
An Easter tree cheers up the holiday atmosphere. It is so easy to make and decorate one. With Easter round the corner, you should start thinking of conceiving your Easter setting. With eggs, chicks and other pastel colored decorations spread in the house, an Easter tree will provide you with a pretty spring-y setting.
I myself started setting up such a display years ago in the dining room as its big window offers a wide sight on the garden. My Easter tree is homemade and placed on the center of the dining table. The container consists in a vase in which I arranged curly branches.
The ornaments I use include eggs, chicks, bunnies, and garlands. They make for an easy and pretty decorative element. Are you excited to make and decorate your very own Easter tree yet?
What Type of Easter Tree Should You Use?
Choose the tree or branches that best meet your tastes
My favorite way to make an Easter tree is using branches that I cut out from a forsythia tree. I make sure that buds didn’t start blooming of course. But you can choose the type of support you like the most. There are different types of trees that you can use, depending on your own tastes. From pastel blue or pink Christmas artificial trees to artificial lighted birch branches. It also all depends on how big you wish your decoration to be.

Easter Egg Tree Ornaments
Use embellished eggs to decorate your holiday tree
Once you have decided on the type of Easter tree you want to make, you can start decorating it. There are different ways to decorate a homemade Easter tree. First you can hang some eggs on the tree.
They come in different styles and are made of different materials : delicate porcelain or hand blown glass decorated with hand painted Easter related figures like flowers, eggs, bunnies…
Other of such exquisite decorating items are made out of plastic and are more resistant (recommended if kids play around the tree). They are generally pretty well made and provide your holiday decor with a joyful tone.
You can also find fabric ornaments that are generally vintage looking and, naturally wooden egg decorations which provide a more natural look to your tree. Paper mache egg ornaments, resin, foam and foil ornaments (the latter come in the form of a garland that you can split into individual decorations) can also be found.

Celebrate the spring through your Easter setting
In addition to the eggs, you can also hang some bunnies, chicks, Easter baskets, flowers and other types of ornaments. These work pretty well on that kind of tree. I even have a pastel colored train. Whether religious or funny, your Easter tree can also include some lamb ornaments.

Highlight the religious side of the holiday
For a more religious approach of your tree theme, you can use angels, crosses and other church related hanging ornaments. This side of the decor allows you to even pick up some objects in the Christmas category.

Easter Tree Garlands
Standard or lit garlands make the tree stand out
Your tree is almost done. To perfect it, you can add a garland – especially if you have chosen the natural branches that don’t come pre-lit. Now you can always add garlands if your tree is lighted. And you can even mix lighted garlands with standard ones so as to provide your Easter tree with an even more festive look.

Don’t forget your tree container
Vases or plant pots make perfect Easter tree containers
As said earlier, I arrange the tree in a transparent vase. But you can use any kind of vase as long as it is big enough to contain the branches you want to add. I have 10 of them. It might not seem a lot of branches but it is enough for the number of ornaments I hang on them.
Vases can be greatly replaced with painted terracotta pots filled with pastel glass stones or colored sand (fill 80% of the container with standard cheap sand and the rest with colored sand). In such a case you can use bigger branches and add even more ornaments.
Happy Easter!
Good idea. I liked the glass Easter egg ornaments.
Yes I do too – actually I love all ornaments but Easter glass ornaments are definitely beautiful, I have a bunch of them at home and like to hold them in my hands, the feel is really special – better than Christmas ones.
