Halloween Books for Children

Halloween Books for Children

Halloween books for children are just one more way to celebrate the coolest part of the year: Halloween!

Kids love books, and Halloween gives lots of opportunities for interesting stories for kids of all ages.

We are getting away from books in a frightening speed. Please read to or with your children to promote reading and help them realize that there is world outside of video.

These Halloween books for children will take your kids from babies to Stephen King loving adults.

Halloween Pop-Up Books for All Ages

I truly love pop-up books. And my kids would want to play with them for hours, and they were always the ones they chose to read over and over.

I have found some lovely classic books such as the one by Jan Pienkowski, as well as the Harry Potter and Nightmare Before Christmas book that definitely will be classics! And of course there are the simple board books for the little folks.

Having flats, door and monsters that pop out at you just makes reading more fun!

Halloween books for babies and Halloween books for toddlers

Children this age can love the holiday, but they do not want to be scared.

Their Halloween will be gentle costumes like animals or Crayons, and they love the decorating and the candy.

Here are some sweet choices for them. There are not super scary monsters here!

Included are board books and a book with a finger puppet for little fingers.

Halloween Books for Four to Eight Year Olds

This age of children loves Halloween. They can stand a little spookiness as long as it is not too scary!

One of my favorites is Happy Halloween Little Critter by Mercer Mayer. Besides the fun story, the storybook is complete with gatefold flaps that readers can pull back to reveal the monsters, mummies, and skeletons that lurk in the shadows!

This age is a crucial time for developing a love and ability in reading, and these books make it so much easier.

Tucker’s Spooky Halloween includes video, audio and activity pack along with the book.

The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything is very highly esteemed by librarians and teachers, and I found the Spanish version too.

‘I’m Looking for a Monster’ is a pop-up book, which I love. (And the kids might too!)

Halloween books for Middle Schoolers

Halloween books for Middle Schoolers fit a special niche. Pre-teens can’t stand to be thought of as children, and yet they have more reading skills than young kids but not the sophistication of teenagers.

These books fit the ticket. Included is the classic Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury.
