Sing a Song for Halloween

There is music for every holiday—and Halloween songs are no exception! Fall is a great time of year to spend some time learning new songs with your children! Sing on the way to school, activities, shopping. The children may know more of these songs than you think they do! Most of all — have fun, enjoy, sing as if no one is listening! Make family memories for Halloween – they will sing these songs for a lifetime!

They’re creepy and they’re kooky, Mysterious and spooky,
They’re all together ooky, The Addams Family.
Their house is a museum Where people come to see ’em
They really are a scream–The Addams Family.

Halloween Idea

My sister gives Trick or Treaters a choice – a Halloween pencil or a Halloween toy – fake spiders, worms, rings. This keeps the children from receiving so much candy and is a fun surprise when they arrive at her door.

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, “oh my it’s getting late.”
The second one said, “there are witches in the air.”
The third one said, “but we don’t care!”
The fourth one said, “let’s run and run and run.”
The fifth one said, “I’m ready for some fun!”
OOOhh OOOhh went the wind
and out went the lights
and the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

Have You Seen the Ghost of Tom?
Have you seen the ghost of Tom?
Long white bones with the rest all gone (Have you seen the ghost of Tom?)
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ooh (Long white bones with the rest all gone)
Wouldn’t it be chilly with no skin on? (Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ooh)

Pumpkin Song for the Very Young
Sing to Tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Pumpkin pumpkin on the ground
How’d you get so big and round
Planted as a seed so small
Now you are a great big ball
Pumpkin pumpkin on the ground
How’d you get so big and round

If there’s something strange
in your neighborhood
Who ya gonna call?
If there’s something weird
and it don’t look good
Who ya gonna call?

One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eater
Well I saw the thing coming out of the sky
It had one long horn and one big eye
I commenced to shakin’ and I said oo-wee
It looks like a purple people eater to me
It was a one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater
Sure looks good to me
