Happy Holidays! Are You Decorating Your Halloween Tree?
Just read a wonderful article published in theBERRY, talking about how Halloween trees are becoming a trend or rather are becoming a recognized part of our traditional Halloween celebrations. I blame Tim Burton! My kids loved “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. In fact, one of my daughters says that Halloween is her favorite holiday! It’s all because of that Jack Skellington! (OK. I admit it. I like him too!)
Halloween trees??!! I was going to express my outrage until I saw some of the wonderful pictures of decorated trees posted via Instagram. Immediately started having second thoughts. First of all, the purple lights and purple ball ornaments are really quite lovely. They’re almost hypnotic. But the tree with the black witch’s hat on the top, in lieu of a star or an angel, is what really got me to thinking.
‘Well fine!’, I thought to myself, ‘If Halloween trees are going to become a permanent part of the holiday celebrations, I’m going to have a little bit more say so on what I deem an acceptable Halloween tree.’
How’s that for the art of compromise? Hey! I never said I wasn’t flexible. :) I changed my mind completely when I found an adorable Halloween tree decorated with Charlie Brown and other Peanuts characters. I love PEANUTS! How could I not give in? It’s irresistible!

Old World Ornaments
Make these decorations a part of your gift-giving tradition.
If you have a friend or a relative and their favorite holiday is Halloween and they like putting up a tree, you could improve on this tradition by incorporating gift-giving and each year buy them a special ornament to hang on their tree. I like the Old World Christmas ornaments and figurines. It turns out there is a pretty nice selection of Old World Halloween decorations too!
What do you think? Are you getting even more ideas about decorations and fun things to do for Halloween, that may or may not spill over into Christmas?

I love my Christmas tree so why not a Halloween tree! My favorite is the Frankenstein glass ornament!
I have two daughters are really into Halloween. They didn’t think I paid enough attention to their favorite holiday so this page is my proof that I do listen to them. LOL. :)
