Harry Potter Cauldron Cupcakes
Cauldron cupcakes are easy to make by using a devils food cakemix and bake in regular cupcake pans. After cupcakes have cooled you can remove the crown of the cupcake with a knife. Using a thin string of black licorice you can make the cauldron handle by sticking a end of the licorice in each side of the cupcake. Decorate with frosting and gummy worms for even more fun.
Weasley Rock Cakes
Weasley’s rock cakes are another fun Harry Potter treat to make although the name may be a fictional name the cake itself is actually a favorite in Britian as a tea cake.
Recipe: Weasley Rock Cakes
Ingredients
- 4 cups self rising flour
- 1 cup butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp mixed spice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup dried fruit[cranberries,apple,raisins]
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 F
- Grease cookie sheet
- Mix flour,spice,salt and butter in large mixing bowl until mixture is crumbly.
- Stir in sugar and dried fruit
- mix egg and milk together and pour into mixture. Using a large mixing spoon stir the mixture together just enough that the flour is mixed in but not over mixed. Over mixing will make them even harder.
- After mixing drop spoonful of mixture onto baking sheet dont spread the mixture out but leave it rough looking.
- Bake on top rack for 12 to 15 minutes
- Remove from oven and Sprinkle each mound generously with sugar to give the rock cake a crunchy and sparkly effect.
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 12 – 15 minutes
