Healthy Hearty Awesome Spaghetti Recipe

Are you looking for a Healthy Spaghetti Recipe?  Well here is a great Healthy Spaghetti Recipe that is sure to satisfy.  If you are like me, then maybe you have found spaghetti to be boring.  You boil up some noodles, fry up some ground beef in a pan.  When the meat is brown, you dump a jar of sauce over it and let it simmer.  Yay!…sounds exciting.

Now, lets chop up some fresh hearty vegetables to give this spaghetti some attitude.  Take you one bell pepper, red, green or yellow.  Get one onion about the size of a baseball, (adjust for your onion taste preference).  A handful of mushrooms, a can of black olives, and, if you’re adventurous, half a clove of raw garlic.

With these ingredients you are on your way to a very Healthy Spaghetti Recipe.

OK  Here are the wholesome ingredients:

Healthy Spaghetti Recipe

– 12 oz Whole Wheat Spaghetti
– 24 oz Spaghetti Sauce (any brand)
– 6 oz Small Black Olives
– 6 Large White Mushrooms
– 1 Large Fresh Bell Pepper (any color)
– 1 Large Yellow Onion
– 1/2 Clove of Garlic
– 1 lb Ground Meat of Choice
– 1 tablespoon of Sea Salt

Healthy Spaghetti Recipe

Start by chopping up the bell pepper into chunks about the size of a dime or a nickel.  Then chop up the onion into as fine a chunks as you like.  The same with the mushrooms.  I like everything big enough to stick a fork in.  Put the bell pepper, the mushroom,  and onion into a large bowl, and add the can of black olives.  (One option is to add the cool black olives later on top of the hot spaghetti).  Mix up everything in the bowl and set aside.

Brown a pound of lean meat in a large, deep frypan.  Trust me you will need the room.  Once the pound of meat (turkey or beef) has been browned, add the jar of sauce.  Here time can be saved by getting a jar that already has the garlic, or anything else you want,  added.  Stir meat and sauce together, and let sit until simmer.  When the sauce is bubbling, it’s time to add the bowl of veggies.

By the time you stir all the meat and veggies together the pan should be just about full.  Now just let all this simmer until the little bubbles appear, and you are ready to feast on some awesome Healthy Spaghetti.
