Well, I just could not resist making a page on Hump Day. When I realized that my favorite commercial of all time now had available products with the infamous sayings on them, I had to write this page for sure! That camel and his voice still ring in my head whenever I see anything to do with camels or Geico commercials. It doesn’t hurt either that my insurance company has been Geico for over 30 years, so I cannot get away from the whole thing anyway! So, if you have a weird sense of humor like me or enjoy all this camel “hump hype”, then join in and get your very own Hump Day t-shirt or whatever else you cannot live without, or maybe even a gift for that special someone on Hump Day.

What is all the rage about Hump Day, and where did it begin? It began with a Geico commercial featuring people saying, “Guess what day it is?” Meaning it was Wednesday, which is often called hump day, because you’re over the hump with only two more work days to go in the work week. Eventually they added a camel with a hump to their commercials, which made them even greater.

The phrase “Hump Day” has been used frequently as a reference to Wednesday for quite some time now, however it became extremely popular and a household phrase after the Geico commercials started appearing. The hump day add with Caleb the camel was Geico’s most viral ad ever, and was incredibly popular. People loved it, and they still do, and their newest commercial features two camels being yelled at at the zoo by people asking them what day it is. Funny stuff when the camels talk to each other about it.
