When I first learned that Chima was going to replace Ninjago I could not believe it. LEGO, after all, had been searching for the perfect combination for years with only a limited amount of success. Why would they throw it all away on a new, untested theme?

After watching only a handful of episodes, however, my son and I quickly jumped aboard the Chima bandwagon. As Halloween approaches, my son has already begun exploring his Legends of Chima costume options.

Like any good story, the characters truly define how great it can become. When it comes to fictional worlds created for kids, however, you only have to get a few things right for it to be extremely successful.

In my son’s eyes, perhaps the most critical element for any LEGO character is the type of weapon he carries. While that may sound superficial on the surface, if you have a son under the age of ten then you probably agree.

The Scorpion Tribe is one of the newer tribes that have been introduced on Chima. Like the Rhino tribe, they are extremely strong. Of course, since they are so powerful they do not place much emphasis on intelligence.

Watch out though; if they somehow manage to sting you then they will instantly gain the ability to control your mind….which is never a good thing in my opinion. It is said that the leader’s venom is so strong that it can even control the mind of Legend Beast (so cool).

Another new tribe found of Chima is the sensation Saber Tooth tribe. As one of the three resurrected Ice tribes, the powerful warriors are among the most deadly and ferocious tribes alive.

Like many of the animal tribes found in this complex world, the Saber Tooth tribe follows the example set by Sir Fanger; their leader. This cold hearted warrior fears no one, and will stop at nothing to ensure that his plan to freeze all of Chima is finally realized!

This officially licensed Chima Halloween costume sword and shield set features the terror-inspiring Saber Tooth tribe seal. Like all the foam weapons currently available, it is also accented nicely with a cool lenticular CHI orb to represent the Chi’s life-giving essence.
