Mercy Come Morning is a novel written by Lisa Tawn Bergren. It is about a young woman named Krista who had a difficult upbringing with her Mother. She had never saw her Dad. Her grand parents had helped raise her until their deaths.

Krista was sexually assaulted at age of 17 by one of her Mom’s boyfriends. Her friend and boyfriend, Dane did not know about the assault or why she no longer wanted to see him. Krista found it difficult to get close to any man.
She knew something was wrong with her mom but she did not realize it was Alzheimers until later.
Dane had a special home built for Alzheimers patients and she had her Mom placed there and left town.
Krista had spent her life thinking her Mom did not care about her and during the last few days of her Mom’s life she came home and discovered a book of Christmas songs with notes her mom had written. It helped her to tear down the walls she had built.
Mercy Come Morning is very good book and well written. I received the book free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group to review it. These are my thoughts about it.
