No Wonder They Call Him the Savior: Discover Hope In The Unlikeliest Place is written by Max Lucado, one of America’s most widely read authors.

He talks of what the answer is when someone asks you to tell them, “What counts?”, “What Really Matters?” as far as salvation. Is it the songs, worship, praying, attending Church? Just cut to the chase and tell what really matters. Mr Lucado says it is the cross.

In Part one he deals with The Cross:Its Words. He speaks of the words Jesus uttered from the cross. The “I thirst,” “It is finished” and the cry of loneliness.

Part two consists of The Cross: Its Witness. It deals with the Apostles and how they ran away when He was arrested. The one who stayed at the cross, the God who gives second chances and more.

Part Three was about The Cross: Its Wisdom and talks of the women finding the tomb opened and Jesus gone and they run to tell the others He has Risen, He tells of what a Savior we have that forgives us for our sins.

I was disappointed as I have read several of his books but this one did not have the impact I expected. As I read I wondered if the cross was what was important as I’m not sure it would have mattered how Jesus died but that He was willing to die for each and every one of us.
