The Best Way to Garden

Are you held back from gardening by poor quality soil? Maybe its hard pack clay or too sandy? Raised garden beds can be the answer to your problem. With a raised garden bed you can control the quality of the soil you are planting in. This can be beneficial to the types of plants you are growing, too. Some plants prefer soil that is more acid, other prefer soil that is loose and mixed with sand or pearlite.

Do you have a problem gardening in the ground because of a bad back or bad knees? These garden beds help tremendously since they are higher up! Raised garden beds are also easier for weed control. You can put down weed barrier before filling it with dirt, which keeps the weeds from invading your beds. You can even lay down chicken wire, if you have burrowing animal problems. You can also take your beds with you if you move, not something you can do with a regular garden. One of the best things about raised garden beds is they have a longer growing season. Since they are raised off the ground, the earth warms sooner and stays warm longer, giving you a longer planting season.

Personally, I love the look of raised garden beds. They are so neat and have clean lines. It is just a beautiful way to raise your own food. Your garden will look fabulous!
