Season with Old Bay
My Favorite Seasoning is Old Bay
As far as I’m concerned, this is the best seasoning in the entire world. As a young Marylander I grew up on this stuff. As an adult, I am never without a can or two of Old Bay Seasoning in my spice cabinet. Anyone who lives on Maryland’s Eastern Shore can tell you that this can is gold.
I’m not a fan of most seafood chain restaurants (I won’t mention any names) because their seasonings are mild and they do not season with Old Bay. I like Old Bay sprinkled on my fish, mixed in crab cakes, steamed with shrimp, and the heavier the seasoning, the better. The most popular way to use Old Bay, and my most favorite is for steaming crabs. No butter is needed for my crab meat just a little Old Bay on my fingers as I pick crabs!

Yes, Old Bay is mostly known for seasoning seafood, but if you really like it, you’ll know that it has many other uses. My husband likes it mixed into his vegetables, especially corn. Use it to season fried chicken for a real taste treat. Local restaurants use Old Bay to season french fries, shrimp salad, wings, crab pretzels and anything else worthy of this seasoning. Throw a pinch of Old Bay on popcorn just for the fun of it.
