The Telling
Book Review: The Telling
The Telling is Book Three of The Seasons of Grace written by Beverly Lewis.
Lettie Byers has left her husband and family to search for a child given up for adoption twenty-four years ago that only her parents know about. No one else knows why she has left Pennsylvania.
Her daughter Grace hires Heather Nelson to drive her to Ohio where Grace had heard that her Mother had been seen. Heather is almost 24 and has cancer. She is going into a clinic for treatment on Monday for 10 days. Heather’s Mother recently has died of cancer and her Dad told her she was born in Ohio to an Amish girl.
When the two ladies arrive they find that Lettie had left the day before for Indiana so they spend the night and return home with out her.
Lettie arrives home a few days later and stays at the Bishop’s house. She confesses to the Bishop and knows she must tell her husband and family. The Elders give her a choice of public confession or shun.
Lettie chooses a public confession. She tells her husband and kids and moves back home while she waits for the Church service where she must publicly confess.
Read the book to see if her Church forgives her and if she finds her daughter.
I enjoyed this book and rate it a 5.
