Totally Cats: Life with Chatterbox, a Tuxedo Tabby

by Mary von Bronkhorst

This healing memoir of the author’s beloved Tuxedo Tabby Cat takes you on a journey through her life and all she was to her humans.

The cat’s name is Chatterbox, and she got that name because she talked a lot, much like my Tuxedo Cat does.

This journey is funny, touching and heartwarming. You will find yourself laughing and crying. I nodded yes throughout the book, as I understand completely what the author was talking about. Even though each cat has their own personality, they all have certain traits that cat lovers acknowledge with a simple nod, understanding exactly what the other is talking about.

Chatterbox wrangled flies, hunted mice and told mom to kill an army of ants coming out of the wall. She was many things, including a television critic, queen of the home, an alarm clock, a doorbell, protector of all, a laser-guided missile, an olympic contender and so much more. Read about the various hats she wore and the love she gave to her human family.

The author even said if Chatterbox had thumbs, she’s quite certain she would have served her a pink slip for not doing her job as cat owner to perfection. It sounds to me though, that the humans took quite good care of their little fur baby, and they loved her very, very, much.

How to Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting to Kill You

by The Oatmeal, Matthew Inman

Is your cat plotting to kill you? Sometimes cat owners probably wonder that when they see their cat’s sneaky ways and suspicious-looking actions.

This book is filled with cartoon drawings that contain funny captions, and it lets you know how to tell if your cat is plotting to kill you.

This book is available in paperback and Kindle versions, but the paperback is only a couple dollars more than the Kindle, so I would recommend going with that.

  1. Keri

I’ve never questioned the fact that my cat is trying to kill me. Number three still sounds like it would be a pretty good read.

  2. Miss Magic was my one and only cat for 20 1/2 years. She managed to get me through the last of my teen years, marriage, one child, and subsequent divorce. She ran our house with an iron paw. All dogs showed respect to Her Highness as her two and half lbs of cattitude was not to be missed. However, there is one thing there was no question about; she loved her human subjects. She was a perfect and beautiful tuxedo cat. I do understand how people can become so attached and in awe of these wonderful friends.

    • That’s precious Holley! That’s a long time to have your friend. I had to put down a sick cat last year that I had for over 15 years. It’s so hard, but he gave me so much love! I now have a cat who thinks she is queen of the house. She meows like she is Mae West, and bats at anyone that gets too close.
