Valentines Day Party for Kids
Valentines Day Party for Kids
Are you planning a Valentines Day party for your kids? With Valentines Day falling on a weekend this year (2014) it’s easier to do without interfering with school or parents schedules.
Parties are great way to socialize with other kids. It also gives you a chance to monitor how your child acts in the presence of other children. You want them to have fun and enjoy the interaction without the drama.
For some children it’s hard not to be shy or a wallflower so don’t let any child sit alone. Put them at tables of 4 children and encourage them to talk by giving them a game meant for 4 people. Give them washable magic markers and let them design Valentines Day hearts for a Valentines Day wall or tree.
For some parents these parties are a way to spend some time with adults away from home or work and not have to be the main source of entertainment for their child. No matter how much fun it may be it can get wearing on any parent or grandparent.
Valentine Party Ideas for Kids
You can do so many different things at kids parties. Watch this video and come up with your own great crafts!
Valentines Day Party Plates
Depending on the children at the party you may like any of these Valentine’s Day party plates. If you have all girls pink is just fine, but if you have boys there too, you might like to use the ones with a little more color or the solid red ones. Boys don’t always notice these things but just in case they do, you don’t want them to feel they are at a “girls party”.
Setting the Stage with a Chocolate Fountain
Wilton Chocolate Pro 3-Tier Chocolate Fountain
Chocolate fountains are a fun way to entertain and give kids a treat. Not all children can have chocolate but those that can will love dipping marshmallows, strawberries, or other bits of fruit or crispy rice snacks or cookies into the chocolate fondue fountain.
The best practice is probably to have a separate fondue pot for the adults on their own table. Try using dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate and make it decadent. Add Oreos or graham crackers to the treats to be dipped. If you have diabetic children present, having sugar free chocolate is a great way to help those children and their parents feel they can participate without stress.
Be sure to hang festive colorful Valentines Day garland of some sort so it looks like a welcoming Valentines Day party. Also be sure you have a great looking disposable table cloth to keep mess and stress to a minimum.
Such a fun idea putting a new twist on the old valentines Day!
